Learning the language and lifestyle of another culture helps us to better understand others around the world and to respect those who may appear to be different from ourselves. Learning another language can also point us in the direction of a future career which may include living in another culture.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT GOALS
1. Students will demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, listening and speaking in target language.
2. Students will identify and demonstrate knowledge of countries where target language is spoken.
3. Students will show respect and appreciation for diverse cultures and customs of other people in a global society.
4. Students will identify and discuss the advantages and professional opportunities of knowing the target language as well as careers available to bi-lingual individuals.
